Homemade Kesar Kulfi

Today we have come up with a simple homemade kulfi recipe. In the hot summers in India kulfi which is the Indian style dessert is much sought after. When we were small vendors selling kulfi carrying a large earthen pot on their cycles sell kulfi door to door. In hot weather, kulfi gives you freshness and beats the heat also.

My mom used to buy kulfi for every second day, she cut the slices of kulfi and give them equally to all of us. While writing this I m feeling very nostalgic. Nowadays there are various flavors in kulfi. Now the big shops have taken place instead of small cycle vendors. But we are going to make our all-time favorite Kesar kulfi which is one of the most popular and basic kulfis which we relished in our childhood. There are many different flavors in kulfi like mango, cream kulfi, or malai kulfi. May become the day we will share these recipes also. So let’s start with our own Kesar kulfi!

Homemade Kulfi Recipe

  • 1 liter fresh milk
  • ⅔ cup condensed milk
  • ½ tsp ground cardamom
  • A pinch of saffron
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachios
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  1. Put the medium size utensil on the burner. Pour the milk into the utensil and let it boil for 15 minutes on medium flame. Stir it again in a gap.
  2. Now add bread crumbs in the milk and mix it well, let it boil for another 5 minutes.

  3. Add condensed milk, pistachios, and saffron in the milk, stir it and again let it boil for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour equally in kulfi molds and keep it in the refrigerator for 5-7 hours. And that’s it, you’re done!
