Yesterday, while I was talking with my mum, she was asking for a recipe for something salty but also something that didn’t require frying. So I decided to give this simple recipe which can be made in under 30 minutes. This recipe includes chana dal (split chickpeas) which is really good for your health. I also includes carrots and cabbage as my main veggies but you can take other vegetables also. (I have listed some of them in notes for reference) Tell us how you like this recipe in the comments!
Baked Veggie Cutlets
Yesterday, while I was talking with my mum, she was asking for a recipe for something salty but also something that didn’t require frying. So I decided to give this simple recipe which can be made in under 30 minutes. This recipe includes chana dal (split chickpeas) which is really good for your health. - 1/2 cup soaked bengal gram (chana dal)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/4 finely chopped carrots
- 1 tsp. ginger paste
- 2 or 3 green chillies (chopped)
- 1/4 tsp. red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp. garam masala
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp. gram flour (besan)
- Oil (for greasing the cutlets)
- Preheat the oven at 240 degrees celsius.
Grind dal coarsely with the help of grinder and mix all of the finely chopped veggies in it.
- Now add all of the spices like the green chilli, ginger paste, garam masala, salt, red chilli powder and gram flour. Now mix it all together until you get a breadcrumb texture.
- Take a small cookie cutter of any shape and start molding your mixture. If you use a small cookie cutter you should get around 15 cutlets. If you don’t have a cookie cutter you can use your hands to shape the cutlets. Brush the top of the cutlets with ANY oil.
- Now put the cutlets onto a baking tray and place the tray in an oven for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve this with green chutney!
You can use cauliflowers, broccoli, onions, or peas if you want but they must all be finely chopped!
If you want to make it even more spicy you can add extra green chillies!
