Place another plate or a chopping board above it and stack some heavy pot or books on the top of it. This step is very essential, as it helps to remove excess moisture and make the tofu extra firm. Cut tofu into 2cm square shape.
- Now take a pan and put on medium low flame, add little oil .Stir fry tofu at medium flame until it gets golden brown and crispy.
- To make teriyaki sauce, take a bowl and add all the sauce ingredients except cornstarch and water, mix them properly and pour them into a saucepan.
- Cook the sauce over medium to high flame, let it simmer for a few minutes, and stir it frequently. Then make the cornstarch slurry and add to the saucepan. Mix it properly and cook until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Pour the hot teriyaki sauce on the tofu. You can serve this with steamed rice.
