The “Football” Sandwich is a football shaped sandwich which includes a cheesy white sauce. These sandwiches are my kids favourite afternoon snacks. This is one of the one reasons that I chose to share this recipe in my yesterday live instagram session. The marinated bread with lots of herbs and butter is so tempting. Football Sandwich
The “Football” Sandwich is a football shaped sandwich which includes a cheesy white sauce. These sandwiches are my kids favourite afternoon snacks. This is one of the one reasons that I chose to share this recipe in my yesterday live instagram session. The marinated bread with lots of herbs and butter is so tempting. How would the world be without bread and butter??
- 4 slices of bread
- 5 tbsp thick white sauce (pasta sauce)
- 3-4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp grated garlic (optional)
- 11/3 tsp oregano
- 1/3 tsp chilli flakes
- 1/3 tsp mixed herbs (parsley, chilli flakes and basil)
- 1/2 cup bell peppers
- 1/2 bowl corn kennels
- 2 tsp mozzarella cheese (optional)
- 2 cups milk
- 4 Tbsp plain flour
- 11/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tsp sugar
- 1/2 Tsp crushed pepper
- 3-4 Tbsp butter (for white sauce)
- Put butter in saucepan and add plain flour in it. Cook it on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Close the stove for a while and add milk in it. Stir it well, in this way your sauce will not get lumps.
- Now start stove and cook it for 5-7 minutes until the sauce gets thick.
- Add salt, sugar and pepper in it. Cook it for another 2 minutes.
- You white sauce is ready!
- How to make your cheese dip:
- Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cheddar processed cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
- 1 – Step Method:
- Mix all of the ingredients above and microwave for 1 minute.
- It is super easy and VERY quick to make!
- How to make the football:
- 1 First cut square pieces of bread. You should get around 16 peices of bread cuts.
- 2 Add garlic, oregano, chilli flakes and mixed herbs in melted butter.
- 3 Toss the bread pieces in this butter mixture .
- 4 Keep tossed bread pieces aside for 10-15 minutes.
- 5 Add bell peppers , corn and little mozzarella cheese in white sauce.
- 6 Place bread pieces on your palm. Try to squeeze your hand and cover your palm with bread pieces.
- 7 Put one spoon of white sauce in centre of your palm and cover this white sauce with the bread pieces which you put on your palm.
- 8 Press this ball with light hand to give it a shape of ball.
- 9 Put these balls in a baking tray and bake them at 220 degrees for 5 minutes.
- 10 Serve them hot with cheese dip and enjoy!
