Sweet & Simple Mango Mousse

Mango Mousse: Did you know that mangoes are considered the “king” of all fruits? And it is well deserved, if we do say so ourselves! Mangoes are an evergreen and sweet fruit that originate in South Asia.

We are using Alphonso mangoes in our recipe but it’s totally on you which mango you are using But make sure that mangoes should be on the sweeter side it should not be sour as it will spoil the flavour of our mousse. Sugar quantity depends on the sweetness of the mango.

 In case you guys are using readymade mango puree don’t add any sugar as it already is already sweet. So without. further ado, let’s get started with the recipe!

Ingredients for Mango Mousse

  • 1 cup Mango puree fresh or store-bought
  • 1 cup heavy cream whipped
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp agar agar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch of saffron

Instructions

  • Firstly whipped the cream with the help of an eggbeater, till you get the peak.
  • Once the cream is whipped keep it in the refrigerator so it doesn’t get loose.
  • In a bowl take agar agar with water, mix it with the spoon. Let it get dissolve.
  • Now whisk the agar mixture with mango puree. keep this mixture on medium flame and stir it continuously till agar agar get dissolve, this process will take 5 minutes. Add cardamom and sugar in the agar agar and mango mixture, stir it again till sugar get melt.
  • Turn off the stove and let the mixture get cool down. But please close watch as mango mixture start to get to set. So as the mixture gets cool at least lukewarm is fine for this recipe.
  • In case you find that the puree gets started to set just make it a little warm again by turning on the stove.
  • Now take the whipped cream out of the refrigerator. Whip the cream with mango mixture with an egg beater at high speed for 30 seconds. Until mixed well.
  • Now scoop the mixture into the bowl in which you want to set your mousse. Cover it with cling wrap and let it set in the fridge for 4-6 hours in the fridge.
